About

Singer, Teacher, Performer For All Ages and Stages

I started singing and playing piano at age six. Singing came naturally, however piano took a bit more practice, and I’m grateful my parents encouraged me to stick with it. Learning an instrument takes time, patience, and persistence, and I bring that understanding to every student.

I know how emotional singing and learning to play an instrument can be. I remember my Royal Conservatory Music (RCM) piano exams, crying mid-performance, and being told to pull myself together and start again. Some days feel harder then others, and that is okay. I believe music should be about freedom, not pressure.

I performed in musical theatre throughout high school, while training privately to become RCM accredited. At one point, my college music studies and a rigid vocal coach made me question whether music was the right path, so I stepped away and pursued Sociology at McMaster. I rediscovered the joy of music when a friend asked me to help with a high school glee club, and before I knew it I was opening my own home studio. A huge accomplishment was recording an album to honor my grandfather’s opera legacy and even now I continue to train with a vocal coach because there's always more to learn.

Your voice is your most valuable instrument, which is why my coaching focuses on technique, vocal health, and longevity. I know how emotional singing and learning how to play an instrument can be. I still remember my Royal Conservatory piano exams, crying mid-performance, and being told to pull myself together and start again. Some days are just not it, and that is okay. Music should be about freedom, not pressure.

For the “But What Are Her Qualifications?” Crowd

My classical training led me to spend five years with the Hamilton Children’s Choir, where I competed nationally and internationally. I’ve performed leading roles in musicals like Songs for a New World, Jekyll and Hyde, and Annie, and earned top honours at competitions including the Kiwanis Festival, Hamilton Teen Idol, and the Ontario Youth Talent Search.

I later collaborated with renowned composer Charles Cozens on my debut album Only Love, and have performed with Quartetto Gelato, the Brantford Symphony Orchestra, and the Burlington New Millennium Orchestra.

I’m certified through the Royal Conservatory of Music in voice, piano, and theory, hold an Honours BA from McMaster University, and have been teaching since 2012, helping students of all ages prepare for exams, auditions, and performances.
